Update your blog on the go
The benefits to blogging on a regular basis are well documented at this stage.
A lot of companies make the fundamental mistake of using their Facebook pages as a blogs. However you get none of the Search Marketing benefits associated with blogging on a regular basis if you do this.
More often then not, the reason people tell me why they prefer to use Facebook is because 'it is just so easy to update Facebook' or that people feel that a blog post needs to be a well written & long piece of prose.

Deliberately Confusing SEO calls from the UK
Just took a very strange call from a company in the UK.
Instead of the standard approach you expect from a cold caller, where they'd introduce themselves, their company and then try to explain what they could do for you.
On this call, the sales person started talking to me as if they were from Google and wanting to talk about 'my' SEO and 'my' Google Analytics.
He started out with: "I can see from looking at YOUR Analytics, compared to YOUR Ad-word data, that more people ..."

Submitted by Shane on Sat, 01/12/2012 - 11:01
Facebook are using the 'Ireland At Lunch' competition, which we helped devise, as a Case Study in presentations to small and medium businesses in Ireland, to show the 'reach' companies can achieve with a simple but well devised & well executed Facebook & Twitter based competition.
Facebook noticed that the competition's unique concept & format were getting fantastic engagement figures - much more so then your typical paid for competition app - and also by using Facebook's inbuilt functionality to allow tagging and sharing, we have adhered to Facebook's competition Terms & Conditions!

Duplicate Content
Submitted by Shane on Mon, 23/04/2012 - 19:24
I just found 3 other web design and marketing companies that had lifted content off our site and used it as their own.
Of course if they knew anything they would know that Google only likes original content so will penalise them for copying content from someone else but will also penalise us - ARGH!

Google announced recently that Google Plus has reached a landmark 90 million users. Considering Google Plus only launched in June 2011 we think that's quite a remarkable statistic.
While still some way short of Facebook's 800 million users accounts, they have reached the 90 million mark quicker then Facebook or Twitter did, and they say that a very impressive 60% of users are logging in on a daily basis and 80% on a weekly basis.
