Q: Help, I just installed the lightbox2 module and now nearly every link I click on results in a lightbox appearing, what do I do?
A: Upgrade to the dev version of the lightbox2 module and the problem should go away...

We ran into a strange problem with the lightboxbox2 module (v6.x-1.9) today. When we installed and enabled it, every link that we clicked on (when using our custom website theme) resulted in an unwanted appearance of a lightbox popup! The problem didn't show up when using the garland theme however.

We found a mention of the problem here:

http://drupal.org/node/675520

This suggested that the problem may occur when jQuery update is installed and that upgrading to the dev version should fix it.

Well we didn't have jQuery Update module installed but upgrading to the dev version (v6.x-1.x-dev) did fix the problem nicely! I think it was caused in our case by some sort of dodge interference with our custom theme..

Hopefully the next release of lightbox2 will make the problem vanish for good, but in the meantime dev does the trick for us!
