The School of Restaurant & Kitchen Management has just started running a brilliant 12 week certificate course: Managing a Food Service Business; From a Tea Shop to a Pub to a 5 Star Restaurant. This isn’t any ordinary course- it’s not all books and pens. This course offers weekly onsite visits to the best cafes, caterers, pubs and restaurants; a week at the Ballymaloe Cookery School; learning life-work balance techniques and working with real food service businesses.
The site also runs a series of short courses, even one specifically designed for those you don't have time to attend the 12 weeks course.
The brief for this project included strong instructions that the site should not look conventional or academic; it should be informal but should never compromise the professionalism and high standards of the course itself.
The client can edit all content in-house. We built a Custom Content Type for the short courses – to make them easier to add. There is a calendar and courses are added automatically. Another Custom Content Type makes adding new Team members very easy and the Blog is linked up with Facebook and Twitter so the client only has to update the Blog.
