Add a Read More Link to Body in Drupal 7 Views

Drupal 7

This is one of those things that is easy to forget if you don't use it again and again.
It's simple and straight forward - just easy to forget!

To add a Read More link to a View

Edit the View. In this case I have a Blog Feed View in the Footer of my website.
In the View Fields >
Add a "Content :Path" field >
Check the 'Exclude from the Display' box >
Re-arrange it up towards the top of the order. To do this you just click the down arrow beside the Add link, then select 'Re-arrange' and you can arrange the order of all fields.
Now Click on the Body Field > Rewrite Results >
Check 'Trim this field to a maximum length'  (I'm using 75 here) >
Check 'Trim only on a word boundary' >
Check 'Add an ellipsis' >
Check 'Add a read-more link if output is trimmed.'
Then add your 'Read More' text >
And under 'More link path' add > [path]
You can get that from the Replacement Patterns at the top.

That's it, you should be done.
Now go and forget all that and we'll see you back here when you need it again.
