Deliberately Confusing SEO calls from the UK

Just took a very strange call from a company in the UK. Instead of the standard approach you expect from a cold caller, where they'd introduce themselves, their company and then try to explain what they could do for you.

On this call, the sales person started talking to me as if they were from Google and wanting to talk about 'my' SEO and 'my' Google Analytics.

He started out with: "I can see from looking at YOUR Analytics, compared to YOUR Ad-word data, that more people ..."

"Hang on!!!" i said "Who are you calling from? You don't have access to MY Analytics or MY Ad-word account, what are you talking about!!!"

He then backtracked to say "I'm looking at analytical data for your industry and keywords .... " At which point I ended the conversation.

I'm pretty sure I took a call from this company before, at the time they were pretending to be a Google Ad-word Partner and that for €100 per month they would "get you to the top of Google for your keyword!" - under questioning it turned out that really all they planned to do, was to set-up some Google Ad-words.

Be very aware of companies using deliberately vague and confusing language in order to sell you something.
