Facebook to ‘lose 80% of users by 2017’?

Facebook losing ground

The Irish Times last week reported a forecast produced by Princeton University which claims that the social media giant Facebook will be largely abandoned by 2017 . The article says that:

The social network, which celebrates its 10th birthday last February, has survived longer than rivals such as Myspace and Bebo, but the Princeton forecast says it will lose 80 per cent of its peak user base within the next three years.

Update your blog on the go

The benefits to blogging on a regular basis are well documented at this stage.

A lot of companies make the fundamental mistake of using their Facebook pages as their blog. However you get none of the Search Marketing benefits associated with blogging on a regular basis if you do this.

More often then not, the reason people tell me why they prefer to use Facebook is because 'it is just so easy to update Facebook' or that people feel that a blog post needs to be a well written & long piece of prose.

Don't forget to blog!

Blog Using Drupal

Your blog should be the centre of your digital marketing strategy. I read a startling statistic today that should get you blogging again if you have let the blog slide recently.

Companies that blog at least 20 times per month generate five times more traffic then companies who blog only a few times each month! Yes, That is FIVE times more traffic!

Are you quitting Facebook?

Are you thinking of quitting Facebook? Quite a few people seem to be annoyed at Facebook advertising to them! (imagine! Trying to make some revenue from providing a service, the cheek of it!), others are uneasy with the privacy issues.

We have a simple rule of thumb: You don't want the world to see something? Then don't post it on the internet! Especially not on a Social Networking website! There are plenty of secure photo sharing sites out there if you want to password protect your holiday snaps.
